Neo agrees distribution deal with Sony

Indian sports broadcaster Neo is set to agree a cable distribution deal that will see its channels carried on Sony’s OneAlliance distribution platform.
Neo, which is owned by the Nimbus Communications agency and was launched in 2006, has until now handled its own distribution and will continue to do so for satellite platforms.

OneAlliance at present has no sports channels in its bouquet. As part of the agreement, Sony has agreed to shelve plans to launch its own sports channels for at least three years. It will still be free to compete against Neo for top cricket rights for its Set Max flagship channel, which carries live coverage of the Indian Premier League Twenty20 competition.
