World Cup drives massive traffic on Fifa website

Fifa’s website had 150 million unique users and seven billion page views during the 31 days of the Fifa World Cup – 1.5 billion more page views than the federation was expecting. Traffic peaked during the England v USA match, when the site registered one million page views every second.
The site had its greatest reach in Brazil, where seven per cent of the online population used it. The UK was close behind on 6.9 per cent. Brazilian users spent the longest on the site on average, at 27 minutes across the month. In Germany, the site had more female users than male users.
