8.4 million see France go out

French commercial broadcaster TF1’s coverage of France’s final match at this year’s World Cup drew 8.4 million viewers and a 72.5 per cent audience share.
France’s earlier group games, against Mexico and Uruguay, both shown in prime time, averaged about 15 million viewers and a 57 per cent audience share. All figures according to Mediametrie.
